Drop 3 Bats

Drop 3 bats are a requirement for many leagues and organizations.  High School and college players are predominantly required to use drop 3 bats.  These bats are also known as BBCOR bats.  BBCOR certified bats have a drop 3 weight to length ratio.  This is just one of several requirements for a bat to become BBCOR certified.

BBCOR certification became the standard for use at the High School and NCAA levels about a decade ago. This certification was designed to increase the safety in the game by lessening the exit velocity.  For a bat to be legal for play, it must meet all of the BBCOR requirements.
