Purchasing Catchers Sets

When purchasing catchers equipment for yourself or for a loved one, it’s imperative that you get the sizing right to protect the ribs, skin, knee caps and other body areas. As such, you should prioritize catchers equipment that fits just right; loose fitting equipment can put the body at risk and equipment that’s too tight will limit mobility and make it less fun to play. When purchasing a catchers helmet, you can use the same size the player uses for their batting helmet.

For catchers chest protectors, you should measure from the base of the player’s collarbone to their waistline. Meanwhile, for leg protectors, you should measure from the middle of the knee just above the kneecap to the bottom of the player’s ankle.
